Adult companion services are non-medical care, supervision and socialization provided to a person aged 18 or older. This Care helps a person work towards therapeutic or community integration, as determined by a Case Manager or Care Coordinator and listed in their Community Support Plan.

Companion Services may include:

  • Attending community events to practice coping or social skills

  • Playing board games to enhance fine motor skills

  • Providing cues to help the person complete a task

  • Assisting with tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, or shopping, while helping the person work toward community integration goals (like helping the person shop to practice budgeting skills

Homemaking

Homemaking extends above and beyond companionship, and it includes tasks such as:

  • Meal planning and prep.

  • Cooking

  • Washing dishes

  • Taking out the garbage

  • Light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting)

  • Laundry and linens

  • Making/changing the bed

  • Helping with organization

  • Running errands

  • Respite Care
